"Green Design" is fast growing in parts of the United States and Europe where people want to make a conscious environmental difference when implementing design decisions for architecture and planning projects. This environmental decision-making process is critical to maintaining the environmental integrity of the final product. The project team must agree on a fundamental system for analyzing the environmental criteria of the architecture, building materials, construction assemblies, project management, and implementation of a Green Design. Often, clients will request Green Design services as a way to achieve higher quality construction, enrich the built environment, and reduce lifecycle operation costs.

     Each Green Design may include design strategies, material selections, product specifications, and systems integrated into the project at all levels. The objective of our team is to create a model environmental design process that addresses energy efficiency, water conservation, building material use, indoor air-quality, and solid waste reduction. The following items are examples of specific environmental features that may be considered for Green Projects, depending on the site analysis, program requirements, and construction practices developed for each project (please note many of the features are specific to the arid, Southwest United States climate, and may vary for other regions):
